I curled up with a book during most of work today and ended up finishing it when I got home. It is called “Number 9 Dream” by David Mitchell. It has some pretty fun Beatles (mainly John Lennon) references in there. The main character is a complete John Lennon fan and is always listening or thinking with something related to him. Anyway, this is an excerpt from the book that I thought you would all enjoy. Some of the names in here you won’t know because they’re fictional characters in this book but I still thought I should write up this passage. Warning you now though, it’s kind of trippy, as all dream are. :) Also, there is now spacing so sometimes you don’t know who is saying what.

Despite the utter weirdness of this dream (which actually makes a hell of a lot of sense if you read the book, oddly enough) I love this book. It isn’t one I’ll read again though because it was actually the most emotionally distressing book I’ve read in a long while. The wording made me uncomfortable, the setting and the story lines all contributed to my unease and I found myself actually disgusted with some of this whole book. Not because it was overtly gross or controversial, but because the writer is that good. He is able to mention something and set off a series of emotions.
I do suggest for others to read this book because the writer is very good. He gets a little wordy at times, but I find myself in the mood for that when its cold and rainy out so I liked it. Just out of curiosity, has anyone else read this?
